Our Mission

At WoundMD, we have one overarching mission: to give patients easy access to advanced and preventative wound care. We do this by providing expert care in the comfort and convenience of the patient’s home.

Since our treatment model is centered around the patient, we are able to develop long-term relationships with our patients that lead to better patient outcomes and a higher quality of life. We take pride in providing personalized care and exceptional service to every patient in our communities.

WoundMD was established to increase awareness and access to state-of-the-art wound care and to prevent avoidable amputations, infections, and hospitalizations.

Dr. Jose Rivera

Founder, Director of Clinical Services

As the founder of WoundMD, Dr. Rivera has always had a strong passion to change healthcare delivery for the better. After he received his undergraduate degree from the University of Florida, he went on to complete his medical training in Cleveland, Ohio. He then finished a Foot and Ankle Surgical Residency at West Los Angeles and Boston VA Healthcare Systems and went on to complete additional Foot and Ankle Surgical training at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore. Now, with over 18 years of experience in Clinical Practice under his belt, he is an exceptionally driven, helpful, and reliable director who strives to make a lasting impact on his patients’ health. When he is not actively improving the quality of life for his patients, Dr. Rivera can be found mountain biking, spending time with his family, and enjoying a good, strong shot of espresso.

MD, Medical Director

Ashish is a strong patient advocate who is always looking for new opportunities to learn and discover better ways to serve his patients. He is passionate about his work and gets up every morning ready to put a smile on his patients’ faces. In his spare time, he loves to listen to music and take his dog, Bernie, on relaxing car rides.

Office Administrator

Jojanna is a certified X-ray technician and medical assistant at WoundMD. As a dedicated and reliable member of the team, she actively works to facilitate the care and healing of her patients. On her days off, she likes to immerse herself in a good book and visit Florida’s beautiful Springs. Sometimes, you can even catch her watching Brooklyn Nine-Nine and snacking on crunchy kettle corn.

Michelle has a master’s degree in Advanced Nursing Practice and strives to make a true difference in her patients’ lives. As a naturally caring individual, she loves to learn new skills and techniques to help others feel better. Along with her thirst for new knowledge, Michelle enjoys traveling and getting to know exotic places around the world.

When Jossie has free time, she likes to watch The First 48 and munch on rich, chocolate brownies.

Leticia is originally from Puerto Rico and moved to Florida in 1994 to attend the University of Ana G. Méndez, where she received a master’s degree in Science of Nursing. Throughout her career as a Family Nurse Practitioner, she has enjoyed building professional relationships and helping patients establish their healthcare goals. In her spare time, Leticia loves to hang out with her four children, her granddaughters, and her two dogs.

Aisha has a master’s degree in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner. As a driven and caring team player, she loves her job because she has the ability to help her patients feel better and comfortable. On her days off, you can find her swimming at the beach or the pool and enjoying a nice cup of coffee.

In her free time, Mileydis spends her time in the great outdoors on camping and hunting trips with her family.

Cindy has been involved in wound care for more than 25 years. She loves wound care because it gives her the satisfaction of knowing that she’s helping to improve her patient’s quality of life by decreasing their pain and promoting healing of their wounds. She’s a compassionate, focused and curious individual who believes in lifelong learning, both personally and professionally. In her spare time, Cindy loves swimming, jogging, and mediation.

Account Executive

Keith graduated with a B.S. in Business Administration from West Virginia University (WVU). He loves being able to facilitate advanced wound care to the community and has a passion for helping patients find better wound care while impacting their lives and the lives of their families. Keith is committed and passionate about his work as well as easy-going and a good listener. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family (wife and 2 boys), playing golf with friends and bike riding. His family loves taking their dog to the dog beach and traveling together as a family.
